We recently visited Citizens Advice Bromley, where we were joined by Councillor Chris Price for a valuable discussion about how our work is helping residents across the borough.

The visit highlighted the impact of the Debt Free Advice partnership in providing much-needed support to people facing financial difficulty in Bromley. Through our collaboration with trusted local partners like Citizens Advice Bromley, we’re able to deliver holistic, person-centred debt advice that helps residents navigate complex financial challenges and move toward stability and confidence.

A key focus of the conversation was addressing the misconception that Bromley doesn’t need support with debt and money advice. While the borough is often seen as comparatively well-off, the reality shared by Citizens Advice Bromley is very different. Many residents are struggling with rising living costs, energy bills, rent arrears, and other forms of debt that can quickly become overwhelming. The need for free, accessible, and high-quality debt advice is growing—and Bromley is no exception.

Councillor Price expressed his support for the work being done locally and discussed how increased visibility and cross-sector collaboration could help reach even more people in need. Together, we explored ways local leaders can amplify awareness of available services, ensuring that residents know help is out there and that they don’t have to face financial hardship alone.

Two frontline debt advisors from Citizens Advice Bromley also shared their experiences during the visit, offering powerful insight into the daily realities of supporting people through complex and emotionally challenging debt situations. Their stories illustrated why holistic and joined-up support—bringing together debt advice, benefits guidance, and wider community services—is essential for helping residents rebuild their financial wellbeing.

At Debt Free Advice, we’re proud to work alongside partners like Citizens Advice Bromley who share our mission to make London debt-free. Visits like this remind us how vital it is that every borough, regardless of perception, has access to the same level of support and opportunity to thrive.
